Original automotive coatings supply was started. In the next four years, Kemipol became one of the primary coatings manufacturer for the Turkish automotive market.

Started supplying to the automotive refinish coatings market. Kempa Inc. was established as the Marketing Company for Automotive Refinish Coatings.
Akzo Coatings International purchased 51 % of Kemipol shares, the title of the company was Akzo Kemipol Industry and Trade Inc. which became AkzoNobel Kemipol Industry and Trade Inc. following the merger of Akzo and Nobel in 1994.
