Chalking
Reasons
- Incorrect thinner or hardener amount
- Incorrect thinner or hardener type
- Vehicle surfaces not cleaned regularly or sufficiently
- Polishing application with an improper cleaning product or very thick paste
Removal
- May be removed temporarily via polishing, the problematic area should be sanded and recoated for proper removal.
Stone Chipping
Reasons
- Insufficient adhesion of one of the coating layers to the layer underneath
- Harder topcoat than the layer below
- Thicker application than required
- Thinner coating layers than necessary
Removal
- If the topcoat is problematic, touch-up should be made.
- If the damage is in the lower layers, the surface should be sanded and recoated with the correct system.
Chemical Traces
Reasons
- Long term contact of the surface with chemicals such as acid, grease, bird drops.
Removal
- The marks on the surface should be corrected by sanding or polishing if possible.
- The surface should be sanded down to the base and recoated for removing deep marks.
Thickening
Reasons
- Higher storage temperature than required
- Sealing problem between the lid of the mixer and the coating
- Overmixing of the components in the mixer
- Leaving the lids of the products open for long periods of time
Removal
- Products with thickening should be replaced.
